Access to the Ingenuity Platform is delivered through a secure, private cloud-based service where users upload and analyze their data using the Ingenuity data analysis and interpretation applications.

The Content Acquisition layer is a robust set of people, processes and technology for curating high-quality scientific relationships from peer-reviewed journals and both public and private biomedical databases. Information collected goes through a thorough, repeatable quality control process to insure the molecular information, called Findings, are captured as originally published and are integrated into the Ingenuity Ontology, a framework for organizing and describing biological evidence. Both confirmation and contradictory Findings are captured, including the source publication and the context for the Finding, to ensure users will have all the supporting evidence required to assess the applicability of a specific Finding.
The challenge with published literature as a resource for genomics data analysis is that it is unstructured and therefore reduces the utility of the information. At Ingenuity we’ve tackled this problem by structuring the fundamental knowledge into ontologies that provide the scaffolding for the Ingenuity Knowledge Base. The Ingenuity Ontology structures the curated content for relevance and computation by the applications.
The Applications Layer provides a rich set of intuitive web-based applications for quickly analyzing and accurately interpreting the biological meaning in genomics data. The Knowledge Base is used as a starting point for exploration and a bridge between novel discovery and known biology. When accessed through Ingenuity Applications, it provides you with a powerful resource for searching relevant and substantiated knowledge from the literature, and for interpreting experimental results in the context of larger biological systems for greater confidence in decision-making.
