Merck will continue to utilize Ingenuity
Pathways Analysis in research and development
efforts
REDWOOD CITY, CA – FEBRUARY 13, 2007
– Ingenuity Systems today announced that it
has entered a multi-year agreement with Merck
to extend and expand its licensing agreement
for access to Ingenuity Pathways Analysis
(IPA) software. Merck’s research and
development teams will utilize IPA for biological
exploration, interpretation and analysis.
“Merck scientists have worked with
Ingenuity Pathway Analysis since 2004,”
stated Peter DiLaura, SVP, Commercial Operations,
at Ingenuity. “IPA has been fully integrated
into their R&D process and functionally
executed by the compound profiling group and
biologists in multiple therapeutic areas.
The expansion of our licensing agreement demonstrates
Merck’s commitment to solutions that
help researchers rapidly derive biological
meaning from their complex data.”
Ingenuity Pathways Analysis is a software
application that enables researchers to model,
analyze and understand the complex biological
systems at the core of life science research.
IPA is deployed in all major pharmaceutical
companies and hundreds of biotechnology companies
and academic institutions globally. It supports
analysis of all high throughput analysis platforms
and is used in virtually all areas of drug
discovery and development from target identification
and validation to biomarkers, predictive toxicology
and pharmacogenomics.
The Ingenuity Pathways Knowledge Base is
a database of biological interactions and
functional annotations created from millions
of individually modeled relationships between
proteins, genes, complexes, cells, tissues,
drugs, and diseases. The Ingenuity Pathways
Knowledge Base is the largest database of
its kind with the most descriptive structure,
highest degree of accuracy, and largest number
of literature findings.
Ingenuity Pathways Analysis is available as a web-delivered, hosted, or deployed solution. Fully
functional complimentary trials are available at www.ingenuity.com/trial.
