New APIs and SNP Mapping Functionality Supports Integration
and Biomarker Research
Redwood City, CA – January 31, 2006 – Ingenuity Systems today announced the launch of Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) 3.1, a web-based software application that enables biologists and bioinformaticians to understand biological mechanisms, pathways and functions. The new release of IPA 3.1 seamlessly integrates with 3rd party and customer applications through dedicated APIs and supports Affymetrix GeneChip Human Mapping 10K, 100K and 500K Array Sets, thus greatly expanding the relevance of IPA to biomarker and pharmacogenomic research efforts.
"IPA 3.1 meets the need in the marketplace
for a robust pathways product that can be
effortlessly integrated with proprietary and
third party applications,” said Ramon
Felciano, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer and
Vice President, Research for Ingenuity. “With
the addition of new APIs, our customers now
have the flexibility to incorporate IPA into
their internal tools and thus optimize the
workflow for understanding the biological
mechanisms, pathways and functions most relevant
to their research."
"By integrating the Affymetrix Mapping
10k, 100k and 500k products with Ingenuity
Pathways Analysis, we are enabling researchers
to comprehensively investigate SNP information
in the context of the biological mechanisms
of a particular disease," stated Greg
Yap, Vice President of DNA Products, at Affymetrix.
"Researchers can use this technology
to analyze their expression and genotyping
experiments together in a single unified pathways
view of the underlying biology."
Highlights of the Ingenuity Pathways Analysis 3.1 release include:
- Application Programming Interfaces (APIs): Facilitate integration with your application and IPA for optimized workflow.
- Mapping Files for SNPs: Map Affymetrix SNP identifiers. Mapping files now support Affymetrix GeneChip Human Mapping 10K, 100K and 500K Array Sets.
- Updated Content: Leverage the newly acquired, high quality expert curated Ingenuity content containing 1.4 million biological findings.
