New Genomics Community Website Launches This Week

NGS Perspectives, a New Community Resource

We thought we’d share news of an interesting genomics community website that launched this week,  NGS Perspectives aims to provide a place for the community to share different views, news, and opinions on advanced genomics and next-generation sequencing related topics — both in research and in clinical settings. The editorial team will be reporting from conferences, sharing trends, and presenting interviews with genomics specialists who have useful views on NGS.

The website is intended to be an independent blog supporting the genomics community, reporting on all relevant technologies and companies.  It is sponsored by QIAGEN to help fund projects that may be beyond the scope of what other blogs can offer, such as formal industry surveys, in-person interviews with relevant experts and attendance at conferences by the website’s editorial team, and extensive reporting on genomics trends and topics. For example, check out the recent survey published on the website that identifies key bottlenecks in NGS workflows as reported by NGS users.

The NGSPerspectives team will also connect with and support the community via Twitter and Facebook.  We sincerely hope that scientists using NGS get to know the site and offer their feedback, opinions, or content.  As with any community website, NGS Perspectives will get better as more people participate and engage with it!
